Welcome to the Wall of Heroes - a solemn tribute to the brave men and woman of our first responder community who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This page is dedicated to honoring their courage, commitment and selflessness. Each name inscribed here represents a life lived in service to others, lives that were cut short but whose legacy lives on in the hearts of the families they left behind, the communities they protected and the nation they served. Here we remember not only how they lived - with honor, integrity and a deep sense of duty. May their sacrifice never be forgotten and may their stories continue to inspire us all.
On that tragic day on Canfield Mountain, our community was forever changed. In an instant, lives full of love, laughter, purpose, and promise were taken far too soon. Today, we remember each of the victims—not as headlines, but as sons, daughters, parents, friends, neighbors, and heroes.
Their absence is felt in every corner of our town. It echoes in the quiet moments, in the stories left unfinished, and in the hearts of all who knew and loved them. We mourn them deeply, but we also honor their lives by refusing to let darkness have the final word.
Kootenai County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Frank Harwood.
Coeur D' Alene Fire Battalion Chief John Morrison
With a mention to David Tysdal who was also injured in the incident.
To the families left behind: you are not alone. We grieve with you, we stand with you, and we will continue to carry the memory of your loved ones forward—with reverence, with compassion, and with unwavering support.
In their honor, may we rise together as a community—more united, more courageous, and more committed to building a future where peace and healing can take root.
Their names will not be forgotten. Their sacrifice will not be in vain.
May they rest in eternal peace.
With love and remembrance,
Families of the Fallen
